Speech Pathologist/audiologist Specialist 2

The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington invites applications for a benefits-eligible, full-time Speech Pathologist/Audiologist Spec 2 (NE S CNU) position to oversee the operation of the audiological services within the University of Washington Speech and Hearing Clinic. University of Washington's Speech and Hearing Clinic faculty and graduate clinicians have been helping people with hearing loss reconnect to the world by providing person-centered/family-centered, culturally sensitive, unbiased, holistic, and evidence-based audiological services to the greater Seattle community for over 50 years. This position contributes to the educational and research missions of the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences by providing leadership to the clinical services in audiology offered by the clinic. Candidates with demonstrated clinical excellence in audiology, demonstrated effectiveness in clinical supervision and prior experience developing and/or managing a productive clinical team are especially encouraged to apply. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees the management of a complex patient caseload, including planning, evaluating, and treating patients with diverse audiological needs, providing occupational audiology services, and providing effective clinical supervision to graduate student clinicians (80% of time). Provides leadership for audiological services within the University of Washington Speech and Hearing Clinic, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care and services, and sustaining a productive audiology externship program (5% of time). Monitors and manages the financial portfolio of audiological services within the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic, optimizing revenue generation and cost-effectiveness (5% of time). Coordinates with other program directors and research investigators regarding the integration of educational and research activities into clinical operations (5% of time). Leads outreach initiatives and implements strategies to deliver audiological services to underserved populations and to improve accessibility of care (5% of time). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders. OR Documentation of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association approved equivalent to the Master's degree consisting of approved curriculum and student practicum hours AND A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Washington state licensure for audiology. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Five years of experience as an audiologist. Experience in clinical supervision in audiology. Experience in managing a productive clinical team. Experience in curricular development and/or clinical research.
