School Telehealth CMA for Innovative Program


Overview The Telehealth LPN-CMA provides team-based patient care as directed by the Telehealth provider. This position provides clinical support to the providers regarding all aspects of the registration and scheduling process for telehealth visits to facilitate positive experiences. This position also provides professional customer service to providers, internal customers and external customers. Day-to-day functions include connecting patients with the provider, clinical documentation, vital signs and assistance with Bluetooth peripheral devices as instructed by the provider. Participation in a Clinical Orientation and Competency Evaluation, and ability to pass a Clinical Skills Assessment and Medication Administration test within ninety (90) days of hire, and within 3 attempts. Talent pool: Nursing Support Responsibilities Provide instructions to patients and/or parents on video visits technical requirements, and assist with any patient/parent questions-----------------------------------------------Answer basic patient/parent questions on what to expect video visit by phone-----------------------------------------------Ensure telehealth visits are performed within expected time frames-----------------------------------------------Education of school staff and parents on video visit for acute illnesses-----------------------------------------------Give instruction to patients/parents as advised by the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant (for example: care plan for parent and PCP, follow ups needed, referral to PCP)----------------------------------------------- Operation of virtual visit device and Bluetooth peripherals-----------------------------------------------Offer technical support and troubleshooting for patients and providers in a timely manner Maintain and clean virtual visit equipment after each patient-----------------------------------------------Organize, prioritize, and monitor daily work activity to ensure that complete and accurate registration/documentation has been performed in a timely manner-----------------------------------------------Communicate with school staff regarding return to classroom or student dismissal-----------------------------------------------Assist school office staff with securing parental or legal guardian permission for video visit Qualifications EDUCATION:REQUIRED:High School Diploma or equivalentMedical Assistant Program or Practical Nursing ProgramPREFERRED:Associates, Healthcare Related Field EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:2 year, Healthcare - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 1 year as Licensed Practical Nurse1 year in outpatient clinical settingPREFERRED:4 years, Healthcare - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 2 years LPN experience2 years in outpatient clinical setting with pediatric population LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED:BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderCurrent and active certification as a medical assistant by one of the following: American Allied Health (AAH), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA).Current licensure with NC BON as LPN, in good standing.Valid Driver's License - If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.PREFERRED:
