Directs, implements and updates policies, procedures and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen radiation protection/safety measures. Ensures the timely delivery of accurate radiation treatments and oversees the efficient maintenance and operation of all radiation therapy equipment. Serves as the liaison between department and staff, physicians, patients, family and other hospital staff. Routinely performs all duties of a lower level staff, as needed. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.Job Description:EDUCATION:<ul><li>Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program</li></ul>CERTIFICATION &amp; LICENSURE:<ul><li>ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists</li><li>RHTT-Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch</li><li>OR RHA-Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch</li><li>BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider</li></ul> TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>8 years of recent relevant experience.</li></ul> SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:<ul><li>Demonstrated specialized expertise in radiation therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including significant experience responding to traumas, code blues, medical alerts, STAT calls, and various hospital emergencies.</li><li>Proficient in performing radiation treatment with an in-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology so as to recognize, prioritize and communicate suspicious and potential abnormalities.</li><li>Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.</li><li>Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.</li><li>Broad knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS).</li><li>Prioritize and delegate assignments based on experience, procedures, policies, and best practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.</li><li>Work autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.</li><li>Identify and analyze data to solve problems that arise with little or no precedent.</li><li>Analyze workflow/processes and propose improvements or solutions that improve the efficiency of the team</li><li>Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).</li><li>Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.</li></ul>Job Shift:DaysSchedule:Full TimeShift Hours:8Days of the Week:Monday - FridayWeekend Requirements:OccasionallyBenefits:YesUnions:NoPosition Status: Non-ExemptWeekly Hours:40Employee Status:RegularNumber of Openings:1This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $59.73 to $83.61 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
