SUMMARY

Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Health Group) is a well-established primary care practice dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to our community. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistants to join our team. We have offices in Plano, Frisco, and McKinney. As a Medical Assistant at Village Health Partners, you will play a crucial role in supporting clinical operations and ensuring a smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient rooming to efficiently meet daily appointment schedules
• Review presenting issue, visit history, orders, and update EMR appropriately
• Assist Physician or Advanced Practitioner with examinations or procedures
• Obtain vital signs and prep patient for visit
• Fluent in medical terminology & medication refill protocols
• Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phones, and updating patient records
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
• Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, clinic environment
• Appropriately escalate issues outside of existing protocols to meet patient needs
• Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates
• Meet performance and service level criteria as defined in "Performance Metrics"
• Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years related experience, preferably in a Primary Care office setting
• Certified Medical Assistant - must be active and current
• Athena EMR experience a plus
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience in properly handling confidential and sensitive information; knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
• Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
