Job Summary and Qualifications

UP TO $15,00 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE 

HCA North Florida hospital is seeking medical professionals to work on our, 44 bed observation unit. An observation admission is needed when the Emergency Department treatment has not successfully improved the patient’s condition for discharge. It is at that time; the patient will transfer to the observation unit for ongoing treatment and stabilization requiring reassessment for discharge or hospital admission. The registered nurses on the unit will be responsible for carrying out the nursing process. A nurse on Observation is responsible for the care of general patients that do not meet inpatient admission criteria.

Provide safe and effective nursing care to his/her assigned patients utilizing the nursing process. Responsible for the direction and supervision of personnel assigned to deliver that care.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)

FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire. BLS certification.

COMPETENCIES: The competencies identified for this position are summarized and reviewed periodically throughout employment. The required behaviors and measurement associated with core, job specific, age specific, and management (if applicable) competencies and are maintained in the department education file.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
