Position Summary * Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. * Participates in the assessment of patients. * Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care. * Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote and professional development. * Develops leadership role within the LPN scope of practice. Participates in Service Excellence Program. Responsibilities * Assist in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. * Assist in the coordination of intradepartmental and interdepartmental patient care activities and seeks to promote harmonious professional relations: utilizes nursing education to provide direct patient care and improve patient's physiological and emotional well-being. * Collaborates with members of the health care team; monitors and communicates changes in the patient's condition; may document care in patient's medical record, procedures and nursing standards; and acts as a role model for students and other employees. * Assists in completing the nursing admission record consistent with policies and interviews patient/significant others to complete health history. * Documents care and patient's response to care within the framework of the standards of Nursing Service. * Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating and revising the plan of care: Participates in implementing the plan of are through effective use of procedural and organizational skills. Minimum Requirements * LPN Diploma * Active NC LPN License or compact state * American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification * Exposure and practice of medication administration from educational preparation and student clinical practice.
