Overview Talent Pool: Allied Health Assists with ophthalmic procedures. Responsibilities Determine ExtraOcular Muscle measurements and disorders--------------------------------------------------Escort patient to room and review/update medical history with emphasis on primary reason for visit.--------------------------------------------------Neutralize (read) patient's current glasses and document--------------------------------------------------Obtain confrontation Visual Fields and document--------------------------------------------------Obtain visual acuity for both eyes, uncorrected and corrected--------------------------------------------------Perform IntraOcular Pressure Measurements--------------------------------------------------Perform papillary examination and document--------------------------------------------------Place dilating eye drops in both eyes as ordered by physician (standing orders)--------------------------------------------------Refract patient for best corrected vision and write glasses prescription *Retinoscopy and Manifest refraction--------------------------------------------------Transfer patient to sub waiting area, MD exam room or Tech room-------------------------------------------------- Qualifications EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, Education, RequiredTraining from an Accredited Medical Ophthalmic Program EXPERIENCE:2 years, PreferredTwo years of experience in an ophthalmic office is preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDPREFERRED
